No matter what the world might think, vegetarians are not completely protected against cardiovascular diseases and high cholesterol, and they can develop other severe conditions. The causes of these benefic effects is represented by the fact that the vegetarian diet furnishes very little saturated fats, and the level of blood cholesterol is very low. At the same time, the way vegetarians eat can minimize cancer risks. All these facts about vegetarians does not make their lifestyle flawless. It’s a known fact that living healthy means living with moderation, not with prohibitions.

There are so many people today that have weight problems and search for a magical top secret fat loss secret diet that can make the many extra pounds simply vanish, and when they find a pro vegetarian statement they are immediately hooked. True vegetarian do not only eat vegetables, but also exercise. All these automatically sign them up for a healthier lifestyle. If you want a vegetarian diet to be balanced, you will have to exclude only a few aliments and not aliments from a certain food group, as most vegetarians do. But since the vegetarians tend to almost always avoid animal-based products, they are doomed to have an unbalanced diet no matter what they try.

Respectable nutritional studies that were conducted on vegetarians show that this group of people must be lacking certain vital aliments, since they all have major deficits of iron, zinc, calcium and vitamin D, deficits which will later cause problems.

The truth is that vegetarians are a group of people that, without having to feel hungry of malnourished, will slowly degrade the healthy body cell. But even if they feel full, their body cells will not get enough elements to stay healthy. Cell membranes will start degrading slowly and bones will become more and more lighter. Here, we should remind ourselves of osteoporosis, a bone condition that is encountered mostly in women or even men who did not eat enough calcium based aliments during their lives.

Good diets will never be following an example from exclusive diets like the vegetarian one. These diets should be based on moderation, on general health and not on starving ourselves or our bodies. A vegetarian might look thinner compared to a person of the same age that eat fats excessively, but if we were to appreciate the general health of the two, in most cases the vegetarian is the one that presents more problems and risks.
